Talented but...
Curlin looked like a monster in winning the Rebel however I hope his connections don't get carried away and try to get him to the Kentucky Derby. He simply doesn't have enough races - bottom - conditioning to be ready for 1 1/4 miles in just 6 weeks. If they do what's best for their horse they will gradually stretch him out and could possibly be ready for The Preakness. Or even play it safer and be ready for the Travers.

I guarantee that horse will be racing in Technicolor on the first Saturday in May.
I fear you are right but the chances of him winning are little and the chances of him getting hurt are much greater. He looks like a monster but he isn't ready for 1 1/4 miles about 6 weeks from now! I wish his trainer/owner was patient but I understand that it's a money game.
