Early Travers Contender

Rags to Riches will be pointed to the Travers at Saratoga this August!
This could be an incredible event for racing especially if the big boys show up.

Got to love the confidence her handlers have in Rags. And I mean why not? She beat the better part of the top 3-year-old colts going 1 1/2 miles! Which in my book means she can compete with any 3-year-old, male or female at any distance over 1-mile.

What do you guys think about her and how will the rest of this years big races unfold?

Oh what A Gal !!!!!!

Rags To Riches looked incredible striding out to the finish line a head in front of Curlin.
Congrats to her and her connections for having the guts to put her in the race.

Curlin also ran a big race and I look forward to seeing him this summer and fall. Imagine the finishes of the Haskell, Travers and the Breeders' Cup the rest of the year?

Why did Bailey and Goldberg make so many excuses as to why Curlin didn't win? That was so amateurish. If anything, Rags had the worst of it being she stumbled at the break and was 4 wide through most of the race. So no excuses please.

Today she was best and that's a fact!

Street Sense out of Belmont?!

Well, Street Sense connections feel that by not running in The Belmont they will have enough horse left for The Travers and Breeders' Cup Classic besides getting a prep for each one. So that is 4 more races this season and after running in and winninmg The Derby and firing big in The preakness you really can't blame them. As they explained since they can't win a Triple Crown any more they are shooting for the biggest races that will move the status of their horses much higher.
It's a smart move right now. The horse is sound and feeling good so why push it. A little rest and being pointed for each race is what Nafzgar does best. And remember although he did blow the Preakness by loafing once he got the lead - once again he blew the doors off that field getting to the front just like he did in Kentucky. And it took a great effort by Curlin to nail him at the wire. So Street sense is a very good horse. How good, well we will see. And at least we will get a chance to see and not wonder how good he could have been like many others that retire too soon.
