Congrats to Curlin

Curlin looked incredible on Saturday as he took down the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont to becomes racings all time earnings leader.

I know a lot of handicapper's are getting a little anxious about the Breeders' Cup races being run over an artificial racing surface however in the case of Curlin, I feel that he has the perfect-adaptable running style that will suit the racing surface in California.

Not to worry, 4 weeks from now Curlin will turn in another huge effort!

Big Brown Update...

Big Brown's effort on Saturday at Monmouth was very good. True he was all out to hold off 2 solid turf rivals but overall he showed some of that early brilliance he had shown leading up to Kentucky.

So it would seem that the time between his last few races races has breathed some life back into him and moving forward, the conditioning he will gain from this last turf effort will deepen his conditioning.

So if he does go to the Breeders' Cup he will have the amount of races (conditioning) needed to have a chance at landing in the winner's circle for a race distance of 1 1/4 miles.

Stay Tuned!

Indian Blessing Goes Long?

Indian Blessing looked unbeatable with her new running style of rating for the first quarter in her recent sprints and now gets put in a 1 1/16 miles stake against older gals. What gives?

The Breeders' Cup Sprint for Fillies is at 7-furlongs so why stretch her out now? In fact her only 2 losses in her career were at 1-mile and 1 1/16th miles so why risk anything right now?

I mean she is certainly talented enough to win in this spot but why risk adding a hard/taxing effort so close to Breeders' Cup Day? I just don't understand the logic.
