Where to watch the Derby in the New York Area

Here's a list of the local NY area tracks and casinos that are offering some Kentucky Derby specials. Thanks to all of our contributors who told us about their favorite places to watch and wager on the Kentucky Derby.

AT THE TRACK

BELMONT PARK   / ELMONT, NY

• $1 off parking, $1 off admission, $1 off assorted food and drinks (these discounts run until May 29 th .)
• The live card may also whet the racing fans' appetites.
• Three Grade 3 races will be offered:
  - 14th running of the $200,000 Nassau County for three-year-old fillies at seven furlongs;
  - 32nd running of the $100,000-added Beaugay for fillies and mares at a mile and a sixteenth on the turf;
  - 33rd running of the $100,000-added Fort Marcy for three-year-olds and up at a mile and a sixteenth on the turf.(and, re-locating from Aqueduct Racetrack)

MEADOWLANDS RACETRACK

MONMOUTH PARK

• Reserve a table in the Dining Terrace retaurant (732-229-2100) and enjoy your own television and food service. Or reserve a carel in the state-of-the-art teletheater (732-222-5100) with walls of flat-screen TVs.
• Admission to simulcasting is free and general and preferred parking are free also.

CASINO RACEBOOKS

MOHEGAN SUN

• The Uncas Ballroom will open at beginning at 10:00am.
• Experts handicappers Jim Mazur, author of The Triple Crown undercard Handicapper 2007, and WEEI sports radio host Mike Mutnansky will be giving betting advice.
• All guests who make a $25.00 wager will receive an official pass to the Derby Buffet or a Kentucky Derby festival souvenir (while supplies last).  
• Advance wagering will also be available on Thursday, April 30th and Friday, May 1 st .
• Space is limited and available on a "first-come, first served" basis.   Seating will be limited to the first 1,000 customers.   Additional standing room will be available but will be limited.   Must be 21 or older to participate.

FOXWOODS

• Grand Pequot Ball Room with Big Screen TV's and 10 wagering windows
• Free Official Kentucky Derby glass when wagering in GPT Ballroom (while supplies last)
• $25 wagers receive one free food coupon good for Kentucky Derby buffet and one free Mint Julep beverage coupon
• Ultimate Race Book will have reserved seating for account wagering players only $20
• A decorative Derby Hat contest.

BORGATA / ATLANTIC CITY

• Advanced wagering starting on Thursday April 30th .
• 100 seats, 40 color betting machines, 10 betting windows, video wall.
• Arrive   early on Derby day it will get crowded.

CAESARS PALACE / ATLANTIC CITY

• Friday May 1st   Derby Picnic Cooler for invited Total Rewards card holders.
• Race book includes 44 semi-private seats all with 13" flat screen monitors. 36 ft. video wall consisting of four 60" monitors showing the main race. All other races are shown on individual 50" monitors with selections from approximately 18 different races.
• Located on the first level, the racebook area is identified by a series of Ionic columns. The entire area is non-smoking.

HARRAHS RESORT / ATLANTIC CITY

• Racebook expanded to the 3rd Floor Ballroom.
• Race handicapper Dave Brower from TVG and Meadowlands will be giving betting advice.
• Raffle your non-winning Derby race tickets into a cash drawing at 10pm.
